1. Scope and notice at collection
This notice applies to personal information collected through GoldCoinsCommemorative.com, including the public website, trust pages, search, and the Daily Gold Digest newsletter sign-up flow. It is intended to function as our website privacy notice, our notice at collection, and our public statement regarding U.S. state privacy rights to the extent those laws apply to our operations.
The categories of information we currently collect are limited. In the last 12 months, the site has collected identifiers such as email address and IP address, internet or other network activity information such as request metadata and application logs, limited analytics data about page views and key on-site interactions, and communications you choose to send to us. We collect that information to operate the website, secure the service, run the newsletter, respond to requests, maintain deliverability suppression lists, understand how readers use major site features, and improve editorial and operational reliability.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
If you subscribe to the Daily Gold Digest, contact us, submit a corrections request, or send another message, we collect the information you choose to provide. That typically includes your email address, the contents of your message, and the page or context associated with your request.
Technical and usage information
Like most internet services, the site and its hosting providers process technical data such as IP address, request headers, browser and device information, timing data, referrer information, and service logs. We use this information to deliver pages, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and maintain security and performance. For sensitive public forms such as newsletter sign-up, we may also issue a short-lived first-party security token or cookie to distinguish legitimate browser requests from automated abuse and replay attempts.
We also use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate page usage, navigation patterns, newsletter funnel activity, search activity, and other key site interactions. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers to help us understand how visitors engage with the site over time. We use that information for measurement and product-improvement purposes, not for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Newsletter records
For newsletter operations we store subscription status, consent version, confirmation token state, confirmation timestamp, source-page attribution, and bounce, complaint, unsubscribe, or suppression status where relevant to lawful email delivery and list hygiene.
3. How we use personal information
- Provide the site, render pages, and operate market, search, and trust-page features.
- Process and confirm newsletter subscriptions and send transactional or editorial email communications you request.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, deliverability failures, and security incidents.
- Respond to questions, privacy requests, accessibility requests, and corrections submissions.
- Maintain suppression lists so unsubscribed, bounced, or complaint-marked addresses are not mailed inappropriately.
- Comply with applicable law, legal process, and recordkeeping obligations.
4. How we disclose information
We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose personal information in the following limited situations:
- Service providers that host the site, send email, store operational data, or help us secure and maintain the service.
- Professional advisers, auditors, or counterparties where disclosure is reasonably necessary for legal, operational, or transaction-related purposes.
- Government authorities, regulators, courts, or law enforcement where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service.
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to the promises in this notice or an updated notice.
5. Cookies, similar technologies, and tracking disclosures
The site is designed to operate without behavioral advertising technology. We do not run third-party ad-tech cookies or cross-site retargeting scripts on the public experience described in this repository. We do use Google Analytics 4 for website measurement, which may place cookies or use similar technologies to distinguish visitors, measure page views, and understand key content and conversion activity. We also use short-lived first-party security cookies or similar tokens on the newsletter form to validate request flow, slow automated submissions, and protect the service against abuse or replay. Standard web infrastructure may also process request-level information needed to deliver content, secure the service, and diagnose failures.
Because the site does not rely on cross-site tracking for advertising, it does not materially change behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals. If that changes, this notice will be updated. Visitors can also use browser controls or Google's analytics privacy tools to limit analytics collection. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
6. Newsletter and email communications
Newsletter signup requests are stored with consent metadata such as the email address entered, the page where the request originated, and timestamps relevant to the request. We may pause public newsletter delivery from time to time. When public delivery is paused, entering an email address stores the signup request for later activation and no confirmation, welcome, or digest email is sent at that time. Before routine newsletter delivery begins or resumes to a given address, we may require confirmation of that address. We may also maintain records of unsubscribes, bounces, and complaints so future sending stays compliant and does not override prior opt-out choices.
If you no longer want editorial email from us, use the unsubscribe functionality in the message or contact desk@goldcoinscommemorative.com. Service or legal notices relating to rights requests, security, or accountless operational matters may still be sent where permitted by law.
7. Data retention and security
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and suppression-list integrity. Retention periods may differ depending on the type of record, the reason it was collected, and whether law requires longer preservation.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No website or transmission method is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live and whether an applicable state privacy law covers our processing, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of certain personal information, and you may have the right to opt out of certain kinds of targeted advertising, sale, or sharing. Because we do not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, we do not offer a separate "Do Not Sell or Share" control at this time.
To submit a request, email desk@goldcoinscommemorative.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and describe the right you want to exercise. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and authority before fulfilling a request. If a rights request is denied and an appeal right applies under the law governing your request, we will explain how to appeal that decision.
We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you and we do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.
9. Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact desk@goldcoinscommemorative.com so we can review and delete the information where appropriate.
10. Changes to this notice and contact information
We may update this notice from time to time to reflect operational changes, legal developments, or changes to our practices. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and publish the revised notice here.
Questions about this notice, privacy requests, accessibility requests, or corrections submissions can be sent through the contact page or to desk@goldcoinscommemorative.com.
