These are the first coins ever issued by the United States Government depicting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. These coins are legal tender of the United States. The reverse (tails) design combines traditional layout and lettering with a contemporary treatment of the customary eagle emblem. I will be listing part of my coin collection over the next few weeks.
