For the first time, the Treasury introduces coins with pure 24-carat gold plating, featuring a new effigy of Prince Michael, capturing the essence of his leadership and the spirit of Sealand. This edition is a testament to innovation and tradition, blending high-quality silver with exquisite gold detailing.The finish or proof strike is achieved with multiple strikes at the point of minting, the final stage is the pure gold plating which is applied after careful inspection of each coin. Prince Michael's 70th Birthday coin is the first time the Treasury has issued gold-plated commemorative coins. The individual numbering of each coin is applied by laser-etching onto the edge, which is a security feature on all of Sealand's commemorative coins. These coins also mark a premiere by depicting Sealand's geographical coordinates, inviting coin enthusiasts and new supporters alike to discover the location and significance of the world's only man-made principality.
