The Royal Australian Mint in conjunction with the Perth Mint produced this Gold 7 coin and 1 medallion set to commemorate the 2000 summer Olympics in Sydney. Each coin has an AGW of. 9999 Fine Gold for a set total of 2.2505 ounces. Obverse - Queens Portrait/Reverse - Various games images.
Comes complete with wood presentation case and Certificate Of Authenticity. Acrylic Capsule And Display Box. The 2000 Sydney Olympic Games Gold Coin Set features eight coins depicting the athlete's journey.
Each coin is struck to a high quality proof finish by the Perth Mint from 10g of 99.99% pure gold and issued as Australian legal tender with a face value of One Hundred Dollars. Six of the eight coins feature colour in their designs, these were the first Australian legal tender coins and the first Olympic coins to feature coloured designs. Only 3000 sets were produced.
