Many organizations have been honored and benefited by the U. Mint's modern commemorative program since it began in the early 1980s. The 100th anniversary of the American Legion is in 2019.

To mark the occasion, several types of commemorative coins have been issued. It was struck at the West Point Mint and along with its uncirculated counterpart, is part of a combined mintage of just 50,000 pieces. The 100th anniversary dates, "1919" and "2019" can be found on the obverse. The "W" Mint mark is just below 2019. " The central portion of the design displays a very large "V just in front of the Eiffel Tower.

If you're looking for the face value, it can be found on the reverse. The full American Legion logo is displayed in the upper left portion of the design. The right portion shows a bald eagle soaring. The eagle displays an impressive level of detail. Just like when it left the U.
