2017 1 oz Gold St Gaudens Indian Double Eagle PF70 HR UC Commemorative. See desc
Two exceptional H/R U/C Proof-70's with low census. Gold and one 1 oz. Silver 2017 Saint Gaudens Indian Double Eagle High Relief Ultra Cameo Proof-70 Commemoratives. Private Issue, officially authorized by the National Park Foundation and signed by John M. These proofs were re-sculpted by the now retired 12th Chief Engraver of the U. The proof set represents the Ultra Cameo High Relief version, first offered by the legendary Augustus Saint-Gaudens. According to the modern coin industry, Saint Gaudens personal choice for the Double Eagle was an actual close-up profile of Liberty wearing an Indian Headdress. Only one such pattern was ever struck by the U.
Mint and it is considered priceless. World-wide mintage for these two proofs are: gold is 750 and 10,000 for the silver. NGC Census is 389 for John Mercanti Gold PF70. The proofs are different precious metals but they are both beautiful and share the same weight and diameter as specified by the Silver COA.
There is one COA for the two proofs. It is useful, because it shows specifications relative to both proofs. A new display box is included. It has a mahogany finish and is lined with a ribbon to hold the COA.
This is a beautiful two proof set and a wonderful addition to any personal collection. The item "2017 1 oz Gold St Gaudens Indian Double Eagle PF70 HR UC Commemorative. See desc" is in sale since Thursday, November 19, 2020.
